61週年校慶 董事長致詞 Chairman Benjamin Po Tao Chen's Address at OCU's 61st Anniversary Celebration

校長、楊司長、各位來賓、老師及同學大家好：

僑光創立於民國53年10月9日，今年正好迎來61週年。校歌歌詞中提到「海波到處有僑光」，象徵僑光培育的校友遍布海內外。如今，校友人數已超過十萬人，正是這些優秀的校友，在各行各業發光發熱，奠定了僑光辦學的良好聲譽。在此也要特別感謝校友們長久以來對母校的支持與熱愛。

校歌中另一句「明誠立信，人格乃至上；進德修業，知識是力量」，正是創辦人陳積中先生對僑光人的殷切期許。他始終強調，做人比做事更為重要。因此，今天在這裡，我也期盼各位能夠延續創辦人的精神與理念，在追求知識與專業之餘，更重視品格的養成。

面對當前AI技術的快速崛起，各行各業都正經歷深刻的轉變，傳統知識與技能也面臨新的挑戰。未來，同學們在學習的過程中，更需要主動了解並掌握AI相關技能，善用科技工具，與產業發展接軌，提升自身的就業競爭力，同時也為未來的學弟妹開拓更寬廣的道路。

在座的新生來自世界各地，看到大家積極參與各類活動、展現出蓬勃的活力，讓我感到十分欣慰。各位所展現的熱情與朝氣，更勝於往年。期許大家能持續保持這份熱忱，為僑光創造更多精彩的成果，也成為未來即將踏入僑光校園的學弟妹們的榜樣。

最後，希望大家始終記得創辦人在校歌中給予的期勉，也祝福各位在AI浪潮的時代中，能夠發揮所長、開創屬於自己的燦爛未來。相信有一天，僑光也將以你們為榮。謝謝大家！

President, Director Yang, distinguished guests, faculty members, and students, good day to you all:

Overseas Chinese University was founded on October 9, 1964, and this year marks its 61st anniversary. One line in our school song says, “Wherever the waves reach, there is OCU,” symbolizing that OCU alumni can be found all over the world. Today, the number of our alumni has exceeded 100,000. It is these outstanding alumni, shining in every profession and industry, who have built OCU’s strong reputation for excellence in education. I would also like to take this opportunity to extend my special gratitude to our alumni for their long-standing support and deep affection for their alma mater.

Another line in the school song reads, “Integrity and sincerity build character above all; self-improvement and scholarship prove that knowledge is strength.” These words embody the heartfelt expectations of our founder, Mr. Ji-Chung Chen, for every member of the OCU. He always emphasized that being a good person is even more important than simply being capable. Therefore, today, I sincerely hope that all of you will continue to uphold the founder’s spirit and ideals—while pursuing knowledge and professional expertise, you should also place great importance on cultivating moral character.

As AI technology continues to rise rapidly, every industry is undergoing profound transformation, and traditional knowledge and skills are facing new challenges. In the future, students will need to take the initiative to understand and master AI-related skills, make good use of technological tools, align themselves with industry trends, and enhance their employability. At the same time, you will also help pave a broader path for the younger students who follow in your footsteps.

Our new students come from all over the world. Seeing everyone actively participate in various activities and demonstrate such vibrant energy fills me with great pride and joy. The enthusiasm and vitality you have shown are even greater than in previous years. I hope that you will continue to maintain this passion, create even more remarkable achievements for OCU, and become role models for the younger students who will one day enter this campus.

Finally, I hope that all of you will always remember the encouragement given by our founder in the school song. I also wish each of you the very best in this era of the AI wave—may you make full use of your talents and create a brilliant future of your own. I firmly believe that one day, OCU will also be proud of you. Thank you very much.
